Open Systems Technologies Corporation is looking for a Data Connections Engineers to join our Advana team. As a Data Connections Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our Advana data infrastructure and systems. Your expertise in Python, Java, and SQL along with experience working with data integration tools and frameworks like Apache Kafka, Apache NiFi, or ETL tools will be essential in ensuring efficient data processing and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams are also important, as the role involves working closely with data scientists, analysts, and software developers.
• Developing, maintain, and optimize data pipelines that connect various systems and databases.
• Design, implement, and troubleshoot data integration solutions to meet the Advana data needs

Required Skills:

• Clearance: Secret clearance is required
• Minimum of 3-5 years of demonstrated experience software or data engineer with a strong background with data integration tools like Apache Kafka, NiFi, Talend, Informatica, or similar platforms to design and manage data pipelines.

• Must have experience with the following:
• Databricks and/or notebook-style development with scheduled jobs
• Python
• SQL, JDBC, and ODBC
• SFTP
• Data engineering libraries (pandas, for example)
• Experience developing, maintaining, and/or interacting with REST and SOAP API
• Experience leading or managing small to medium sized teams
• Experience with requirements gathering, planning, and implementation
• Strong experience with data connections

• Ideal candidate will be able to develop and maintain data connections to external resources independently
• Must be in the DC Metro area and available to work onsite (Crystal City, VA and Alexandria, VA) 2-3 days per week.
• IAT Level II Certification
  

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of Qlik/Qlik Sense, QVD/QlikView, and Qlik Production Application Standards (QPAS) is a significant plus.
• Recent DoD or IC-related experience.
• Previous experience with Advana is a plus.
